Where is the fuse interior fuse box? ›

A: Usually, there are two fuse boxes in a car, one located under the hood and the other near the dashboard or steering wheel.

Your fuse box will have two sets of fuses. At the bottom will be 15-amp and 20-amp screw-in fuses with glass faces that are exposed and visible. These fuses will service branch light circuits and outlet circuits. At the top will be 30-amp or 40-amp cartridge main fuses for ovens, laundry rooms, or stoves.

The secondary under-hood fuse box is next to the battery. To open it, push the tabs as shown. If something electrical in your vehicle stops working, check for a blown fuse first.

Search inside your home.

Keep an eye out for a metal box, usually flush with the wall. The box will have a metal door to keep the breakers or fuses protected. Check your garage for the circuit breaker or fuse box. It might also be in a storage room, utility room, the basem*nt, or a hallway.

The first thing to do is find your main fuse box (these days called a consumer unit), which will be in the same place as your electricity meter. They're often in the main hallway of a house, in a purpose-built cupboard.

You must visually inspect the fuse to see if it has blown. Household electrical fuses typically look like a cylinder or plug with a glass window in the middle or on top. In that window, you should see a thin metal strip without any breaks or discoloration.

The main fuse is connected in the live wire so that if the current exceeds its rating, the fuse melts and breaks the circuit; thus, preventing the excessive current from flowing into the circuit.

My 2016 389 has 3 fuse boxes. 1 under the hood on firewall on drivers side, 2, inside cab at the left foot area near clutch pedal, 3, inside sleeper under bunk accessed from the door on sleeper.

The filament must be continuous from one terminal to the other for current to flow. If the filament is broken through, there's melting visible, or there are black or brown burn marks inside or on the outer portion of the fuse, it's an indication the fuse is blown. Use a circuit tester/test light or DVOM.

Depending on make & year, most later models have a high amperage fuse in the main fuse box in the engine compartment. Usually this fuse is labeled ignition. Or you can pull the fuel pump fuse. You can look at the owners manual to identify the fuse or look at the fuse box cover to see proper fuse.
